Weekend Warriors Needed
compensation: Timers: $150-205 per event, Assistant timers: $80-135 per event
employment type: contract
Availability:
o Must be available on weekends (availability is up to the applicant timer; however, must be available to time a minimum of 50% of Saturdays or Sundays) during race seasons (Spring/Fall)
o Hours are variable, but race day generally start at 5AM and ends between 10AM-12PM.
o Occasional overnight travel is required (generally Friday late afternoon/nights)
Technical requirements:
o Musts:
Know MS Excel to a working level (data manipulation, insertion, deletion, sorting, etc.)
Understand text file editing (CSV editing and how it is imported into Excel)
Have extensive knowledge of web/internet "standards" and "norms". A timer is required to upload data to servers which doesn't require programming training, but he/she must be comfortable uploading files, etc.
Nice-to-haves:
Experience connecting cables to equipment, operating simple computer-based hardware involving menu traversing, etc.
Soft skill requirements:
o Musts:
Be customer service oriented.
Have at least 2 years experience with road racing and their logistics.
Be cool under pressure.
Have good interpersonal skills.
Be solutions-oriented, with good problem-solving ability.
Be professional.
Physical requirements:
o Must:
Be able to lift 50 lbs.
Be able to load/unload timing equipment from/to cargo vans and trailers.
Possess a valid driver's license from any state.
These positions are best suited for those that need a little extra income to supplement their current income. All personnel begin as assistant timers for training until qualified to be a timer. Your pace of learning determines how quickly you become a timer - however, you can become qualified in as little as 4 races with the right attitude and skills! We have several positions available.
